Wow. It's been a while since we update the news page on the Stallings Writes website and a lot has happened since then! Two major things to be exact. In a twist of fate, David is now directing LOOK AFTER YOU, the play he has been working as dramaturg on. Below is a cast photo--excitement and nerves abound as we get ready for August 14th. Tickets are on sale right now, and you can buy them and get more information by visiting: www.LookAfterYouThePlay.com.

The other great news has to do with Barrier Island. David's new play is a semi-finalist for The Princess Grace Awards. This is the second year in a row, first time was with Anaïs Nin Goes To Hell. Next year we are going for the gold.

Congrats David!

We just received news that David Stallings' new play, Barrier Island, was nominated for the 2009 L. Arnold Weissberger Award given by the Williamstown Theatre Festival.

The Weissberger Award, given annually since 1988 to an unpublished, unproduced play, honors legendary theatrical attorney L. Arnold Weissberger, who passed away in 1981. Barrier Island was nominated by Philadelphia Theatre Company. The winner will be announced this winter.

Honored and humbled.

David spent last night brainstorming with composer Sarah Chaney on their new musical adventure. Do I hear David Stallings' first musical on its way? Who knows--maybe NYMF next year.

More news to come.

The excitement has begun! We have dates for the Boston premiere of David Stallings' Anaïs Nin Goes To Hell, it will receive a 3-Week limited engagement from September 10th through the 28th, at Boston Playwrights' Theatre.

More details to come.

Do I feel a "Delta of Venus Tour" being formed at some NYC bar?

Monologues are up! It took as a while to figure out a couple of kinks with the Monologue page, but they are up and ready to download.

Just remember they can't be used for performance purposes without consulting David, but feel free to snatch them for auditions and scene study class.

Check out the Plays section of the website. We've updated David's works and hope to soon have 10 page scene excerpts that can be downloaded of each play.

Slowly but surely, the website is taking shape.
